25 days of Holidays

It's almost December, and this year I'm really getting into the spirit of the season. I'm very excited to take The 25 Days of Christmas challenge by Andrea at a peek inside the fishbowl. When I was growing up, I don't really remember having advent calendars. We might have had one once or twice, but had to share the chocolates between the three of us. So instead of more chocolate, this year we are going to start a new tradition and I'm hoping it will stick. Things never go as planned lately, but I love this idea, and I hope we can make it work! I also haven't quite figured out how or where to display our advent calendar, but I'll work on that this week.

1. Do a Christmas craft together
2. Cut out paper snowflakes to decorate the windows.
3. Write and mail a letter to Santa
4. Listen to Holiday music and dance dance dance!
5. Visit GlidingLara and play ‘pin the face on the snowman’
6. Buy a toy and bring it to Toy Mountain.
7. Make a paper chain for the tree
8. Read Christmas stories at bedtime.
9. Write and mail our Christmas cards
10. Sing Christmas songs. Enjoy a special chocolate treat
11. Visit Mamie & Pappi for the first night of Hanukkah
12. Pick up Christmas tree
13. Put up tree & attend gingerbread making workshop
14. Take a drive to look at the Christmas lights
15. Pick out presents for teachers and bake Christmas cookies
16. Wrap presents for teachers
17. Go visit Santa at the mall and have a photo taken* (Depending on when the real Santa will be at the mall, we might have to shift this one around.)
18. Make hot chocolate with marshmallows
19. Bake another batch of Christmas cookies to share with neighbours
20. Play in the snow!
21. Watch some Christmas movies together as a family. Make popcorn!
22. Bake and decorate Christmas cupcakes
23. Do a Christmas craft
24. Unwrap one present after dinner (mommy and daddy get to pick which one)
25. It’s Christmas Day. Remember you have a family who loves you. And that’s the most important gift of all.
