A few days ago, my Twitter/Blogger friend Jenny posted a video of herself on her blog - Day 1 of The Shred. I was totally inspired by her post. First of all, I think Jenny is pretty amazing to post a pre-getting in shape/post-baby video of herself. That just rocks. I know I couldn't do it, I'm far too self-conscious. Like Jenny, I'm not a person who loses weight easily, nor am I particularly active.
But there was a light-switch moment then went off for me, seeing my friend taking on a 30 day fitness challenge. I suddenly had this overwhelming desire to go to the gym and RUN. And I'm NOT a runner (right Kari?) and I'm also not in a place where I actually enjoy exercise, like I used to be before I had kids. So, I went to the gym, hopped on a treadmill and ran. I felt great. The next day, I went back again, and ran some more. I have gone to the gym for 6 consecutive days - I was hoping to make it 7 in a row.
Then, behold the power of Twitter.
And so it began - my gym challenge - 30 times in 30 days.
Will you root for me too?
